What is You Crate?
You Crate is a freight packaging service provided by R+L Carriers, delivering pre-packaged, reusable wooden crates to shippers. These crates are easily assembled and streamline the vital packaging step in the freight shipping process for shippers.
The process is pretty simple. When you ship with R+L Carriers, simply request a You Crate. There are two types of crates:
–The cube – 46”x46”x47”, which handles shipments up to 2,000 lbs.
–The tower – 46”x46”x73”, which takes loads up to 1,250 lbs.
Your You Crate is delivered to you, and you have two business days to pack your freight. The crate is then picked up and delivered to its destination. Once unloaded from the final destination, You Crate picks up the crate.
You Crate also offers an additional service, Load & Protect, designed to provide added security for your shipment. For high-value items, shipments using the Load & Protect service get a designated trailer for the entire transit, and the freight is divided off in the trailer with a tamper-resistant wall. For the shippers valuing ultimate peace of mind, it doesn’t get more secure than that.

Q. Can I keep the You Crate?
No, the crates are reusable and returnable to R+L Carriers. They remain the property of You Crate.
Q. How far in advance should I order my container?
You should place your booking 24-72 hours in advance for Direct points. Additional days are required for non-Direct points.
Q. How do I assemble my crate?
Assembling a You Crate is quick and easy. All you need is a flathead screwdriver to remove the clamps—no screws are needed. Watch an instructional video on How to Assemble a You Crate here.
Q. How many days do we have to pack and unpack the container?
You have 2-3 days to pack and unpack the containers.
Q. Does You Crate offer a driver wait program?
Yes, You Crate offers a driver wait program for single shipment items at the discretion of the driver or dispatcher. Please note that our drivers are not permitted to pack the containers or crates. You Crate is a self-packaging and crating service, so packing is the responsibility of the shipper. The driver will wait if the product is ready to pack immediately upon arrival but for up to 15 minutes.
